Canon Camera

This birthday cake was a new experience on a few fronts! First, because it was the first time I have sculpted a camera (made from Rice Krispie treats and covered with fondant). Second, the birthday girl is not a fan of conventional birthday cakes, so asked for Skor Cheesecake instead.

I've done cheesecakes in the past, but I have to admit, it's been a while and my cheesecake skills are a little rusty!

*Unsolicited tip: Bake your cheesecake at a lower temperature (275F) with a pan of water in the oven. This should help prevent the top from cracking when you take it out.

Birthday Lace

I loved this cake so much, I couldn't choose just one picture to post!
It was gluten free Pumpkin Spice Cake with Vanilla Buttercream.

Skateboard

A Tony Hawk skateboard cake for a very lucky little 5 year-old! (Don't worry if you don't know who Tony Hawk is, I didn't either until I received this order) Vanilla Cake with Vanilla Meringue Buttercream.

Lego Cake

I was lucky enough to make two Lego cakes this week. The top one was for a 12th birthday and was Vanilla cake with Vanilla Buttercream. My son enjoyed watching me make it so much that I decided to make him on for his 3rd birthday a few days later. It was Pumpkin Spice cake with Vanilla Meringue Buttercream.

I am blessed with several American friends. Part of the blessing means I get to enjoy two Thanksgiving dinner's every year. This year I made a little treat to take along. It was Vanilla cake with Cream Cheese buttercream and Strawberry fruit filling.
